OVERVIEW
Velvet Refuge is a capsule rug collection of three designs, each in two colorways. The collection pairs trend research with an intuitive material vision, translating a broader societal shift into color, texture, and form for contemporary interior textiles. Three distinct rug typologies, a sculptural floral shaped rug, an organic ombré high pile, and a deconstructed braid in cut-and-loop relief, together form a layered yet cohesive range.
PROBLEM
A hardening world brings geopolitical tension, overstimulation, and emotional exhaustion. Yet this same friction reveals how deeply interconnected we are. People seek softness, romance, and meaningful ritual as a counterweight, not out of naivety, but as a conscious turn inward.
SOLUTION
The collection responds with deep, warm darks paired with dusty, muted tones that feel protective and serene. A seven-color palette anchored by Midnight Velvet, Ember Wine, and Twilight Refuge carries across all three designs. Botanical and romantic motifs meet deconstructed craft references reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, while tactile material choices, like shaggy high pile and cut-and-loop relief reinforce the sense of shelter. Each design explores a different balance between softness and structure, allowing the collection to live across rooms and moods.
