OVERVIEW
I explored self-love among Black women and how social constructs, like societal representation, have shaped their past and future experiences. This project, in collaboration with Astrid Elburg Consultancy, examined invisible mechanisms influencing Black women daily.
Additionally, I developed a trend prognosis, identified future needs of the target group, and created an app prototype to address financial challenges stemming from systematic marginalization.
I dedicated myself to designing artwork, the app, a handmade keychain, and book layout, each crafted to reflect my findings. Every element aims to engage, inspire, and resonate, transforming my presentation into a compelling, emotive experience.

PROBLEM
Post-Trump, social tensions continue to deepen divides and blur identity boundaries, while the rise of nationalism poses challenges to societal cohesion. Digitalization tends to amplify polarization, often placing marginalized groups like Black women in difficult positions, caught between pressures for individualism and a lack of support. Social bubbles and growing inequality further widen the gap, echoing colonial legacies that restrict opportunities and increase disparities. Yet, amidst these difficulties, there remains hope for justice and self-compassion.
SOLUTION
I've carefully crafted a trend prognosis and delved deeply into understanding what the target group genuinely needs moving forward. Furthermore, I’ve developed a prototype for an app that strives to make a meaningful difference, supporting improved financial situations, fostering social cohesion, and providing women with an empowering community to uplift one another. These are struggles often heightened by systemic marginalization, and I am passionate about creating tools that can help lift women up and strengthen their financial literacy as this is a powerful tool for better economic standing and more self confidence and love.
